Strada Education Foundation Strengthens Partnership with SUNO to Nurture Future Leaders

Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO) stands at the forefront of cultivating the next generation of leaders, thanks to an expanded partnership with Strada Education Foundation. This collaboration, a cornerstone of the HBCU Initiative, signifies a significant leap forward in providing SUNO students with essential resources and support to excel in their academic and professional endeavors.

The expansion, fueled by a landmark $25 million grant, represents a pivotal moment for SUNO and Strada alike. Over the span of eight years, this funding will empower more than 500 SUNO students with scholarships, networking opportunities, and leadership development programs, amplifying the university's commitment to student success and community impact.

Throughout the inaugural year of the initiative, SUNO students, designated as Strada Scholars, have demonstrated exceptional leadership and initiative. They have spearheaded various campus programs, established an honors association, and served as mentors for their peers, embodying SUNO's ethos of excellence and service.

Dr. James H. Ammons, Chancellor of Southern University at New Orleans, expressed gratitude for the partnership with Strada Education Foundation and highlighted its transformative potential for SUNO students. He underscored the importance of equipping students with the skills, resources, and networks necessary to thrive in an increasingly competitive landscape.

As the partnership between SUNO and Strada continues to evolve, both institutions remain committed to nurturing a culture of leadership and innovation on campus. Regular interactions between Strada leaders and SUNO administrators ensure that initiatives align with the university's mission and priorities.

The recent Strada HBCU Leadership Summit held in Atlanta, Georgia, provided SUNO scholars with a platform to connect with peers, share best practices, and engage in leadership development activities. The summit underscored SUNO's dedication to providing holistic support for student success and fostering a vibrant community of scholars.

As Strada Education Foundation continues to invest in SUNO and other HBCUs through the HBCU Initiative, the partnership reflects a shared vision of creating equitable pathways to prosperity through education. By collaborating with SUNO students, faculty, alumni, and community stakeholders, Strada reaffirms its commitment to advancing student success and driving positive social change.
