THE LADY KNIGHTS

The SUNO Lady Knights finished the 2012 Season with a record of 23-11, 8-2 in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference, finishing 2nd in the Southern Division.  In tournament play, SUNO fell in the semi-finals to Tougaloo.  This season was the most successful in the programs history as the team set records for victories and conference victories.  Zipporah Washington  and Christal Kay Hollins both earned All-GCAC 1st Team honors for the 2nd consecutive year and Stephanie Buhl has led the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference in assists in each of her first two seasons in earning 1st Team recognition as well.  Freshman Jana Reininghaus had a huge impact on the Lady Knights as she earned GCAC Freshman of the Year honors and made the All-GCAC 2nd Team along with Libero Shemetria Gonzales.  The Lady Knights won’t lose any seniors to graduation, so next season should be even better.  Congratulations SUNO on a great season!
