Transient/Special/Summer Only

Applicants enrolled in another institution and who desire admission for a limited period must submit a Letter of Good Standing or official transcript from the institution where they are currently enrolled.  New freshmen are never considered transient, special students or summer only students.

Applicants currently in good standing at an accredited college who wish to take classes for one semester at SUNO, and who plan to return to their home institution, may be admitted as Transient/Special/Summer Only students. Such admission status will terminate at the end of the term and does not constitute admission to Southern University at New Orleans. Students who enroll under this status are not eligible for financial aid.

Summer School Applicants:

Admission to Summer School is available to any student who wishes to take courses during the Summer academic session and plans to return to their home institution for the fall. This enrollment process is designed specifically for those students who do not attend SUNO during the fall and spring as degree-seeking students.

Students who wish to take classes for transfer credit to other colleges/universities should obtain approval of transfer credit before submitting their application.
