Dean, College of Education and Human Development; NCATE-CAEP Coordinator for Accreditation, Reaffirmation & Review of Academic Programs; Assistant Professor of Early Childhood Education; and Co-Director of the Center for Certification and Teacher Quality

This Title III funded Activity consists of the only teacher certification program in the College of Education and Human Development and prepares individuals who do not have education degrees to become certified to teach in early childhood, elementary, K-12 all levels, and secondary areas. The Center for Certification and Teacher Quality addresses the shortage of certified teachers (K-12) in the Greater New Orleans area, the State of Louisiana, and the nation. The Center for Certification and Teacher Quality supports and promotes both the accreditation goals for Southern University at New Orleans as well as the University’s mission to “promote the upward mobility of students” and prepare students for successful employment in their chosen careers.
