Dr. Mostafa Elaasar

Dr. Elaasar received his Ph.D. in 1993 from Kent State University. He joined the Southern University at New Orleans Physics faculty in 1997. Prior to joining SUNO, he held a postdoctoral appointment at Louisiana Tech University. His area of research is experimental Nuclear Physics with emphasis on the study of the Electromagnetic Structure of the Nucleon and Hyper Nuclear Structure. Since 1993 he has been a member of different research collaborations at Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facilities (J-lab). He teaches Calculus-Based General Physics I (Mechanics and Waves) and II (Electromagnetism and Optics) Lectures and Labs., and Physical Science Lecture and Lab. He also taught advanced courses for Physics Majors, e.g., Wave Phenomena (Optics), Electronics, Theoretical Physics, Quantum Mechanics, Nuclear Physics, and Statics (Engineering). |

Dr. Omojola is the Campus Corridinator for SUNO’s Louisiana Alliance for Minority Participation (LAMP). For his outstanding mentoring work, he was awarded the Presidential Award for Mentoring on November 16, 2007 at the White House. |
