The QEP, or Quality Enhancement Plan, is the component of the accreditation process that reflects and affirms the commitment of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), to the enhancement of the quality of higher education and to the proposition that student learning is at the heart of the mission of all institutions of higher learning. SACSCOC defines a QEP as “a carefully designed course of action that addresses a well-defined and focused topic or issue related to enhancing student learning.”
As Southern University at New Orleans closes in on our 2011 reaffirmation of accreditation by the SACSCOC, we have chosen a topic which focuses on the intersection of student learning, technology and institutional readiness in the post-Katrina environment.
The input of our faculty, staff, alumni, community, and most importantly our students, is of the utmost importance. We invite all stakeholders, therefore, to share in this critical process with us. The SUNO QEP Task Force is hard at work developing a comprehensive process to take the University to the next level in providing our students with quality academic support.
We invite you to learn more about the QEP Topic, and provide feedback. We also encourage you to return to this site for updates, and provide us with feedback as we continue this critical process at a pivotal time in the history of Southern University at New Orleans.
